Obama affirms Iran's nuke ambition

"What I do believe is that Iran has legitimate energy concerns, legitimate aspirations."

Those are President Obama's words in a BBC interview about Tehran's nuclear developments.

But according to official government data from 2006, Iran's energy consumption consists mainly of natural gas and oil. The country also ranks top three in terms of natural gas and oil reserves.

So what is the President referring to? Why is President Obama so soft on Iran?

There are many reasons to keep Tehran in check:

• President Ahmadinejad has repeatedly threatened to destroy Israel, a longtime and important American ally in the Middle East.
• The nation has close ties with other anti-American nations such as Cuba and Venezuela, two countries right in our backyard.
• Blatant disregard for human rights -- religious persecution, abuse of women and children, and lack of freedom of expression.

Is this really a country we want to see to become a nuclear power?

World wants Obama elected, more reason NOT to vote for him

According to a poll conducted by the anti-American BBC, the majority of the world would like to see a Obama presidency as he continues to struggle against McCain's post-convention bounce.

We all know Obama's popularity among foreigners and it's well documented. But this is an American election, who cares about what French, Germans, Australians, Russians, Indians, etc. think? Americans rescued many of these nations from war and mayhem, and Americans do not need them to tell us who to pick for as leader of the free world.

There's no doubt in my mind that the majority of Americans are proud of their republic and democratic system. Such polls from foreign media are absurd and meaningless, and only works against the Obama campaign.
