MTV VMA host talks American politics, makes idiot of self

Maybe there's a reason MTV had to settle with British pseudo-actor/comedian Russell Brand in the last minute as host of its Video Music Awards... 'cause nobody wanted the gig. Brand begged the audience to elect Obama "on behalf of the world." He also called President Bush a "retarded cowboy."

When did MTV become CNN- or MSNBC-like to offer left-wing political commentary?

Well, keep it up. Although VMA viewers are most likely young voters in support of Obama, they absolutely, like, hate political stuff on MTV 'cause, you know, like, they want to see music videos and like, reality shows with beautiful young people.

Yes, the MTV Generation knows a good backlash, too.
