Oh no, the world may reject America if McCain elected!

The Guardian's Jonathan Freedland is worried. He's worried about Obama losing the White House race. He's worried about McCain's endorsement of a League of Democracies (the anti-U.N.). He's worried about offshore drilling, here in the U.S.
Of course I know that even to mention Obama's support around the world is to hurt him. Incredibly, that large Berlin crowd damaged Obama at home, branding him the "candidate of Europe" and making him seem less of a patriotic American. But what does that say about today's America, that the world's esteem is now unwanted? If Americans reject Obama, they will be sending the clearest possible message to the rest of us - and, make no mistake, we shall hear it.
Don't be worried, Mr. Freedland. We know you, like thousands of other Europeans, are infatuated with Obama and what he stands for. And why not? He promotes the same socialist ideology as your frail continent. How much taxes do Europeans pay? How high is the unemployment rate? How good are the healthcare systems? How ready is your military?

Americans do not wish to turn their country into another France or Germany. Americans do not care what type of message you'd prefer to hear. History has proven that America has shown great love for Europe, no matter which president is in the White House.
