Dingell was chairman for almost 28 years and one of Big Auto's best friends in Congress. His removal from the committee sends a clear signal that Pelosi and friends are ready to impose stricter regulations in the auto industry and align with the environmentalists. Rep. Waxman has always been a supporter of legislation to curb global warming, and this latest move in House politics will be welcomed by many environmentalists.

No love from anyone for Big Auto
Wow, even the Democrats are giving Big Auto a hard time! The CEOs have appeared before Congressmen to beg for a bailout loan to no avail. Then today the Democrats voted to oust John Dingell (D-Mich.) from chairmanship of the powerful House Committee on Energy and Commerce, replaced by Representative Henry Waxman (D-Calif.).

It's really Pelosi that's scared of V.P. Palin
All this media attention given to Palin is already hitting Obama hard. But which other politician is worried sick about Obama losing the race?
I'd say Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House.
She heads a Democratic-controlled Congress with approval ratings less than 20%, even lower than the president's. Voters are dissatisfied with her leadership in today's economic downturn, primarily in the area of energy policy. As Americans are hurting at the gas pumps across the nation, Congress has done virtually nothing in alleviating the financial hardship by passing legislation to steer the country away from foreign energy dependence. The Democrats continue to target oil companies and talk of price controls, even when they realize what the feasible near-term solution is: allow drilling of America's vast oil reserves. It's Economics 101, supply vs. demand.
Palin knows the ins and outs of energy policy very well. She's chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003-2004. She's negotiated with Big Oil on doing business with Alaska. And she's championed the $26 billion pipeline project awarded to TransCanada to transport natural gas from the North Slope to the lower 48 states.
All the time Pelosi is sitting on her behind, taking vacations, and avoiding calling a vote on legislation to give America more energy independence. Palin is now on the GOP ticket and receiving approval points from voters like never before in this race. If she enters the White House, she'll definitely make Pelosi look like a demagoguing, do-nothing liberal from the Left Coast.
